Los Angeles Child Camp Abuse Attorneys
Fighting Teen Neglect in Residential Programs, Summer Camps, and Boot Camps
From classic summer camps to rehabilitation treatment programs located in a remote setting, parents and guardians often decide to send their children and teenagers to designated camp programs. In other cases, when parents cannot control their teenage children, they may turn to special boot camps, “tough-love” camps, or wilderness therapy camps for help.
Unfortunately, many of these residential camp programs take advantage of the vulnerability of parents who want to help their children at any cost – as well as the physical vulnerability of the young people in their care. At Greene Broillet & Wheeler, LLP, our Los Angeles camp abuse lawyers can help you fight for justice after your child has suffered serious injuries at a camp or residential program. We believe in holding these organizations accountable for abuse and neglect of children, and with millions recovered on behalf of injury victims throughout California, we will serve as the committed advocates you deserve.

Common Types of Camp Abuse Claims
While many camp programs encourage young people to develop new skills, overcome challenges, and make lasting friendships, there are also many reports of abuse happening at youth and teen camps across the country. In fact, one report by the Government Accounting Office discovered that there were high rates of physical, sexual, and emotional abuse of young people in many residential therapeutic camps. During 2005 alone, 33 different states reported that 1,619 staff members were involved in incidents of abuse in residential treatment programs. The same document also reported multiple cases of serious injuries and fatalities at boot camps and residential centers for youth.
If your child has been injured, you may be able to bring a claim against any of the following camps or residential programs:
- Athletic youth camps
- Summer camps
- Religious camps and programs
- Wilderness therapy programs for teens
- Boot camps
- Weight loss programs and camps
- Academies for troubled youth
- Drug and substance abuse rehabilitation camps
Committed to Seeking Results for the Injured and Their Families
At Greene Broillet & Wheeler, LLP, our attorneys have successfully represented many clients whose children suffered serious injuries or wrongful death due to the negligence of those who own and operate youth camps. In one case, we represented the family of a young man who was killed at a camp in Texas. Another past case involved a camp resident whose arm was severely burned by boiling grease.
We have found that many of these camps are ill-prepared to protect the health and safety of their young residents. If your child suffered a serious injury — or worse — at a tough-love camp or academy for troubled youth, we can provide the legal counsel you deserve. Serving clients throughout the Los Angeles area, Southern California, and the rest of the Golden State, we also consult with attorneys and clients nationwide.
